I would like to share with all of you my profound joy at seeing a project which had barely emerged a few months ago as a small dream, a beautiful “possibility”, and now has already become a fruitful reality. “The Eutherpe Foundation opens its new branch office in Valencia, specifically dedicated to the promotion of CHAMBER MUSIC"
The idea of dedicating special attention and an outstanding venue to chamber music arose from the fundamental conviction that this genre offers the ideal context for experiencing the true essence of music, without artifice, in a intimate and direct way. Chamber music is something like “condensed inspiration”.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Diputación (Government) of Valencia for permitting us to use its splendid auditorium “Alfons el Magnánimo” in “La Beneficencia” Cultural Centre as a venue where recitals and related activities centring on CHAMBER MUSIC can take place, thus creating a platform to promote young artists of the highest calibre.
We are also glad that we can count on the trust and support of the VALENCIA PHILHARMONIC SOCIETY and Valencia’s PALAU DE LA MÚSICA, each of whom are generously offering Eutherpe Foundation a series of programme slots for appearances in their respective auditoriums (A and B). Thus new, outstanding chamber music ensembles have the opportunity to make themselves better known to a wider audience – a brilliant means for them to embark on their future professional careers!
Ever since Eutherpe Foundation held its inaugural Valencian chamber music recital in April 2008, we have featured eight first-class chamber music ensembles. These are highly talented young musicians who come from Spain and other countries. Thus, although many of them are indeed Spaniards, we have also heard performers from France, Belgium, Russia, Sweden and Germany. These formations have brought with them an outstanding choice of repertoire extending from the Baroque to the prsent, performed with utmost dedication and feeling, offering their very best. We have thus had the privilege of hearing the Esplá Quartet, the Thuille Quintet, the Artis Iter quartet, Només Quatre, the Guslak Quartet, the duo Stephanie-Marie Degand (violin) and Denis Kozhukhin (piano), the Arcadia Trio and the Capella de San Esteve.
To all young ensembles who wish to tread the path of Chamber Music with true professionalism and enthusiasm,
we invite you to perform in our recitals!
And to you, our audience, we extend a warm welcome to come and attend these outstanding concerts. You can consult our programme on this website, and you can contact us at the following addresses:
